Drumming for “Hamilton”

Hamilton has two different parts that require a drummer. The drumset part consists of a large drumset plus electronic pads. The percussion part plays along with the drumset but also has instruments like concert bass drum, keyboard, tubular bells, etc. This little piece here is about playing drumset for the show. I started on Hamilton as a Drumset sub in 2019. I had been subbing for a few months when they offered me the percussion chair. I started on percussion, then Covid hit and we went away for a while. Then I started back up in 2021 and we went out on tour. I was out for a full 2 years and played percussion for most of the time. I moved to drumset at our last stop - 6 months in Toronto, Canada.
