SF Bay Area Lessons
I teach drums, percussion, piano, keyboards, and music theory. Students come to me with a variety of backgrounds, from no experience to preparing for college auditions. Over 20+ years of teaching private lessons, I have methods in place for a wide variety of students.
All students have access to drumset, cajon, djembe, vibraphone, glockenspiel (bells), various keyboard and synthesizers, and more.

ABOUT the TEACHER
I really like teaching…
A lot of performing musicians teach because they feel like they have to, or they do so begrudgingly. I actually like teaching! I love seeing students progress and get joy and confidence from playing. My parents are both (retired) music teachers, college and elementary level, and it’s always been what I wanted to do.
I knew that to be a good teached, I’d need to have a great performance resume. So I started working on that and never looked back! I got a classical percussion degree, a jazz degree, made a living playing in New York, and traveled to learn percussion in West Africa, Cuba, Brazil, Peru, and Puerto Rico. Somehow after 20 years I’m still out here playing gigs and making it as a musician.
All the while I taught private lessons and in various schools and programs around Wisconsin, New York, and the SF Bay.
